Should I file for contempt??

So, all in all, it sounds like I am doing the right thing by finally putting my foot down and stop worrying about any backlash. If I get a no show in March, I will look to file contempt. Although I will have my fingers crossed CP does the right thing.

In other words, you totally lied. Your credibility is shot. Any information you received before is suspect since it wasn't even regarding the proper states.

Not to rehash old threads (mind you this was 2007), aside from minor details, most states carry similar laws regarding custody and visitation. At this point, I don't even remember the advice I received. Moot point anyways as CP moved back to TN.

That was simply stupid of you to lie to us about your location. State laws vary, sometimes quite widely. If you wanted valid legal help, you have to give the CORRECT state name.

Having read through this, send notice to mom IN WRITING - both regular mail and CRRR on your intentions. If there is a no show, THEN and only then do you file in court asking that she be found in contempt. With that said, be prepared to ask how this be rectified? Do you want mom's spring break for next year and then the following year? Additional time in the summer? What else are you looking for.

It is stupid to change states but I get it too.
