I live in New Mexico and I am 16 years old as of October.
My boyfriend and I recently found out I was pregnant. He is 18 years old as of September and we've been together for more than a year now (before he was 18). I no longer want to live with my grandparents and his family is open to me moving in. My father is no longer in the picture and my mother has her own family to take care of with her boyfriend. I'm unsure as to what can be done in this situation if my mother/father decide to press charges or try and do something about what I want to do. Please help!

unless your whomever has legal custody of you approves of you moving in with the boyfriend, you live with whomever your legal custodian requires you to live with. Being pregnant, or even after the child is born does not affect the fact you are a minor under the control of your parent.

If Mom allows, you can live just about wherever you wish.

According to NM the age of consent is 16, but that doesn't mean there won't be legal issues necessarily.

Is there any way I can get our marriage court ordered, we were already planning on getting married when I turn 18. I already know my mother isn't going to approve of me moving away, regardless if she's in my life or not. Have any ideas? :(

I am going to assume that your first sentence means that you were 16 last October and not that you will be 16 this coming October.

There is no provision under the laws of your state for the court to override your parents' wishes. Either your parent/legal guardian approves your marriage, or you do not get married until 18.

In South carolina, once you have a child, you are emancipated and can go wherever you like. I would check the laws in your state

somebody (like maybe cbg) has apparently already checked the laws and what happens in South Carolina has no bearing on what happens in any other state.

There is no law in the OP's state that will allow her to marry without parental consent.

There is no law in ANY state where a minor can marry without parental consent, an order from the court, or both, pregnant or not.

Nor does getting pregnant or having a child provide legal emancipation in any state. Medical emancipation, yes; she can, with the help of her doctor, make her own decisions about her health care and that of her baby. But getting pregnant is a good way of kissing legal emancipation goodbye.

There is at least one state that will allow a pregnant minor to marry without parental consent or court order. Maryland is one, but I believe there are a couple others. However, this is not true in OP's state.

That's it exactly. There is a massive difference between legal emancipation and medical emancipation.

In New Mexico, parental consent must be obtained. - and the court can still deny the petition.

Perhaps Sally would prefer to hang out somewhere else instead of a place where we prefer to discuss you know, real life legal stuff. Like the fact that having a baby in SC does NOT confer legal emancipation.
