What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

I was 3rd and last in line in a freeway pileup. #2 is complaining of neck and carpal tunnel injury and has hired an attorney. My insurance company has offered #2 $250,000. The limit. They have refused and want more. They are still shopping it around to doctors (we have stacks of their medical shopping paperwork). We have not officially been served yet.

My insurance company has assigned their attorney to me. Should I accept their attorney or find my own? Obviously I want to protect my assets. Just not sure insurance company attorneys really have my best interest at heart even though I'm told they are working for me. Insurer is Allstate.

Advice?

Thanks.

Let your insurance company handle it. That is what you paid them to do.
