What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Iowa

management claims on 4 differenct occasions from 1 month previous to 1 or 2 weks ago I arrived for work clocked in went to lunch all seen on video arriving and leaving , not seen by video coming back from lunch but video shows coming back later in afternoon, been suspended pending union inverstigation, barring co worker saying they saw me during times management says I was not there, how do I defend myself.

Why are you not seen returning on the video until later in the day?

Union is going to view video this week, and talk with people to see if they remember seeing me at work at time questioned, 1 person said he remembers seeing me at work during time in question on one of those days, told them if they wanted to they could talk with union. Did not pressure them at all up to them if they want to come forward.

If you're on an unpaid suspension, go ahead and file for unemployment. No need to wait for them to say, "you're fired."

so you can apply for unemployment ins while under suspension, union rep said discipline could be from 3 days suspension up to 90 days or termination

phone use is only permitted during break time and lunch, break time is in morning, and phones with cameras are not permitted unless you mean company phone and no we only have a dept phone.

I am getting the feeling Im up ****s creek unless union can pull a miracle out, 11 yrs been a good employee but this is just my opinion.

Again, why do the cameras not show you returning from lunch on the days in question?

I don't know, I have not seen the video and wont be able to only the union reps will, I don't know if the cameras are on 24/7 these dates are from 2 weeks to 4 weeks ago 4 dates total.

Under at-will employment, this suspension and your possible termination are perfectly legal. Your only legal recourse is through your union. Let them handle it.
