I received a municipal code violation citation from the city due to weeds growing above eight inches on my property. This was after I was given 7 days to remove the weeds. While I did remove them in the evening of the final day, the inspector had taken pictures earlier in the day (10:34 am) when the weeds were still present. The city sent a crew to remove them the following day, but all that were left were weeds in my deck/flowerbed which I had sprayed with weed killer and were already wilting. I collected video/picture evidence on my phone the following day after talking to the crew, and the crew did not charge me a fee. Should I pay the $50 citation or is it feasible to successfully contest in front of a hearing officer even though I risk additional fees?

Weeds? EIGHT inches long?

Pay the 50. If you had to take 7 days to pick weeds you likely don't have the ability to fight the ticket. :)
