Reading through previous posts, I think specific people only like to comment when they want to belittle those who are asking. I only asked WHAT a joint pretrial is and if anyone can help me with it or what options I have to write it myself.

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? MARYLAND

I don't mean to sound ignorant, but I'm unfortunately not clear on how to write and file a joint pretrial statement for custody/child support of my son.

I am the plaintiff and my son's father and I haven't been together since 2010.

I just need help and if anyone needs details, let me know exactly what you need. My son's father, myself and my current boyfriend aren't quite sure on how to write up one. Unfortunately, the court clerk hasn't been of much help.

You're right. So, my question is: in the custody/child support case of 2 parents that have never been married and share only the child (no assets)....what is JOINT pretrial statement? Do I only write our point of view on the future case for mediation purposes as well as trial purposes? Does it have to be in a legal format?? I don't mean to sound naive. Some on here can get a bit snippy but they do give sound advice if you do proceed with writing a stipulation on your own I would suggest having a attorney look over it before you file it. Here is a copy you might be able to use as a template. http://courts.oregon.gov/lane/docs/packet4c0913.pdf it from a different state but give you an idea I am not sure if this is specifically what you asked for so do your homework. I would encourage to go consult with an attorney.

But to be perfectly honest, I'm not entirely sure we can actually help you to any great degree more than you've been helped so far. We have to draw a line between going further into a situation to help us give you more specific information, and going over the line right into trying to walk you through it every step of the way.

I am not being snarky when I say that, it's just that we can't really get into the sort of detail that you need. There are sources online though - there are several forums which are tailored more towards support and less about the nitty gritty details, and they can actually be of great help too. Deltabravo.net is an excellent resource ( ... well, once you get past the politics - just like here, there's a particular niche to be filled and it's not going to fit every person's situation or indeed, point of view).
