What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Montana
Hi All,
I am new to this board and I am hoping that this is the best step I ever took to resolve my credit problem.
In 2012 while I was a student in Montana, I had a medical bill that my insurance refused to pay (they are thieves I swear).
Anyways, the clinic sent it to collection agency and they got a judgment against me (~$600) and it was satisfied.
At that time I was a kid, I never gave it too much attention as I didn't know how this would affect me in the future. Now in 2015 I am married and I have a kid and I live and work in Seattle. I am trying to buy a house and my credit score is hit because of this problem (please note that this is the ONLY NEGATIVE thing in my credit score). I know for fact that I can get a loan with my current credit score, but I also know it is not going to be the best rates. All this is because a stupid mistake I did a few years back!! I know that I will pay many thousands of dollars more in mortgage (over the years) because of this thing!!
I called the court in Montana and explained the situation to the clerk, she was really nice enough to mail me some papers (motion paperwork) so that I mail it back and she will present it to the judge. I would like to write to the judge but as you can see I lack the "lawyers lingo" and I am afraid I would not use the right words and my case my be rejected.
I am posting here to see the possibility if anyone can help me with a sample of this letter. Something I can write with the right words.
My family and I will appreciate it so much!!
Thank you very much in advance!
