I just had my DWI that I received in 2014 expunged.

Now, as far as I know the expunction has cleared the county I was arrested in, but it's still showing up on my DL record. I had one of my LE buddies run my DL and the 6 month suspension is still showing up, however, there is no lift date and it's still showing "refusal".

Will the expunction clear my DL or is the drivers license something completely different?

You'd have to tell us what state this is going on in. However in most states, Law Enforcement and certain other government background checks can see expunged/sealed convictions.

So did you also have a refusal? The refusal is distinct from your DUI. You could have been found NOT GUILTY at trial and the refusal would stay on your record. The expunction can't change that. Your chance at getting that to go away was at the administrative hearing.

Ok that's what I needed to know. I really appreciate the feedback, FlyingRon.

And yes, I let a bad divorce I was going through at the time cloud my judgement and I refused.
