My wrong doings vs my school.

I got a D in math 1. I needed at least a C to register for math 2. The school computer registration system doesn't allow me to register for class 2. If I register for math 1 a semester prior I can register for math 2. What I did was registered for math 1 in summer and math 2 in fall. Then I dropped the math 1 class but the system still says I am registered for math 2. Can the school drop the class without my consent? The tuition is already set so if I pay for the tuition can they un-register me?

Yes they can unregister you when they discover you have not passed math 1 with a c or better. The system is set as it is with the presumption you will pass math 1 with a c or better.

So ... if I understand your post correctly, you found a flaw in the system that allowed you to register for Math 2 even though you got a D in Math 1 and were ineligible to register for Math 2.

If the school catches the error (which they probably will but might not), yes, they can cancel your registration in the class. You did not meet the qualifications.

Why don't you just re-take Math 1 this summer so that you can get better than a D the second time around, so you are eligible to take Math 2 in the fall?

After you failed? No. You pay whether you pass or not. It's not their problem if you get a D. It's your problem. You just wasted $6000 and it's all on you.

I suggest you look to see what the drop date is for a class. You generally can get your course tuition reimbursed if you drop the class in time.

If both Math 1 and Math 2 are required courses for graduation, however, it might be smart for you to re-register for the summer Math 1, and take Math 2 in the fall as already scheduled. Otherwise, you should seriously consider dropping Math 2 now before it is dropped for you.

As a note: I can empathize with you on math courses. It seems to be a necessary evil in life, though.

Ok I'm going to dig myself in a deeper hole now but whatever. In the US students can ask their University to take a summer class at a cheaper Community college. I'm going to try and get the school to let me register for a math 2 at a community college for the summer. If all works out well I will be on track to take Math 3 in the fall. The schools take the credit hours of the community college but not the grade so as long as I pass I should be fine. Going to pray to see if this will work because my school doesn't offer a course equivalency for math 1.

I'm asking. Hypothetically if I pay the tuition full right now while I'm registered for Math 2 (which I'm technically not eligible to take) and I don't drop the class would they reimburse the money I payed for the class I'm not supposed to be in.
