My husband died with a lot of medical bills do I have to pay them?
When my father passed last year...he had no estate. No probate court involved. No assets to probate

The bills were sent back with a certified copy of his death certificate along with a note that he died without estate.

That is the end of.

None of those creditors have come back to try to collect from my Mom

This may, or may not have any bearing on the OP's matter. We need more information before suggesting that the OP take this route.

I'm sorry for your loss.
Does your husband have any assets that may be used to pay the bills? Has probate been opened? We need more information...

I suspect much (if not all) of that was a result of the creditors being compassionate. They did the same thing when my late husband died, and they had no obligation to do so.

(I do realize my response is also unrelated to the OP's actual question given that I did not live in Kentucky)
