What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? GEORGIA

A friend is currently incarcerated for sexual abuse related charges and his parole hearing is in April. The only place he has to live has 2 churches within 1000 feet of the house. The closest one is not being used. Is there anything that can be done so he can still live here?

Here is a link to Georgia's State Board of Pardons and Paroles, Parole Conditions: https://pap.georgia.gov/parole-conditions and here is a link to Georgia's State Board of Pardons and Paroles, Sex Offender Supervision: https://pap.georgia.gov/sex-offender-supervision

It is up to the parole board and the Department of Community Supervision to determine if your friend can live within the 1000' restriction, if this special condition is imposed on him as part of his parole. It could depend on what sort of churches are close to the house in which your friend hopes to reside (e.g., do children regularly congregate there).

I think it might be smart for your friend to be looking for other housing.
