What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
Florida

Am I breaking a 1st right contract by giving my home to my son?

Closed purchase agreement 1 year ago and agreed to the seller getting a first right of refusal but it still has not been written. I guess I just need to make sure of the wording in that first right to protect myself.

That is still not very clear Larry. I understand you are trying to be brief but this is one situation where the more info you give us the better.

Frankly, you will want to consult with a local attorney. This is not something that you should rely on an internet forum for.

You are confusing us, Larry1951. :)

Are you leasing property right now with an option to purchase? Are you purchasing the property on a land contract? Or did you agree to sell your property to someone?

I agree with Zigner that, if you are concerned about the wording of any agreement you signed (or plan to sign), you will need the services of an attorney local to you. Analyzing contracts and helping to write a contract go beyond the scope of this forum.
