When you reach the age of majority you can leave home with whatever your parents allow you to take. On Oklahoma, the age of majority is 18. That also means that yuor parents will no longer have any legal obligation to support you, so be ready to deal with life if you walk out the front door when you are 18.

I have been told that because I signed off my rights as his biological mother that I can potition to get them back when he turns 14 this year. Now I'm not sure if that is even correct....?

It would be nice if you had actually told us what the real situation is. While it is true that the child can't choose to leave home until the age of 18, that really doesn't matter in your situation. Your situation is a custody matter (apparently). Or, are we talking about an action by the state to remove the child from your care?
