What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? New york
I am a legal guardian to my then 15 yr. Old brother he was arrested and given an appearance ticket to show up to court. Being he was a minor they said i had to go to court with him. Well on the court date he didnt come home and we did not go to court. Then when we did go to turn hisself in to see the judge they arrested me aswell. I was 9 months pregnant and they arrested me the same as they would arrest anyone else. They did not offer me a drink or food at all and i was in the cell for nearly 4 hrs. Is this legal? And also due to this stress that i endored in that process i had to have an emergency c-section 3 days later.

Yep, Guardianship has responsibilities. Consider it to be some advance education on your parenthood.

Yep, they can detain. No, they do not need to feed you when it's only a short time. It's not the fault of the police you had a warrant issued. It's not the fault of the court that you didn't assure your ward to show up.

The fact you got stressed isn't the police's fault either.
