What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? DC

In any state, are you aware of cases where the appellant was successful in convincing a zoning board not to approve or to overturn its approval of variances for a city government development project? Lookinv for those special circumstances or loopholes that coul trump a civic endeavor.

Seriously?

There are 50 states in the US (plus DC). What good would answers from them do you in DC?

If you are having an issue in DC you'll need a zoning attorney in DC.

What happens in one state and the decisions made by one state's zoning board generally has little bearing on what happens in other states with their various and assorted zoning decisions.

Is this a research project or a real situation?

Isn't zoning a local matter vs a state matter? That complicates things even more.

You would be correct.

The only way *I* have seen to restrict/delay, and occasionally alter such outcomes is for the people who are against the action to get together and make sure their views/reasoning are known. You can go to open municipal meeting, you can write to the people representing the area, etc.

But the key is, you have to know what the local process is, who controls things, and mobilize your allies.
