I'm not cussing at you. I'm cussing at the law. Sorry if I offended you. Truly sorry.
Except the law makes sense. It allows the creative artists to make money.

If you created something of value, you would want to be paid fairly for it, just as you want to be paid fairly for the work you do at your job. You would not want your employer to say, "This week we are giving your paycheck to Joe because he really likes the work you did."

However, I'm showing my appreciation for the artists work. Being I'm the little man who shows such appreciation, I should be allowed to play their music. Just sayin'!!

On the contrary, by playing the artist's work without authorization (which generally takes the form of a license), you are showing you have no respect for the artist and his rights.

Hate the laws all you want but break the laws and suffer the legal consequences.

NOPE! Not at all! I'm showing the utmost respect because I'm giving them another avenue to play their music. Small guys such as myself love to play their music and I should be able to do so because I have the ultimate appreciation for it.

Anyway, you all gave me the inspiration to hit up those who make the laws!

You show no respect by robbing an artist of his rights.

If you cannot afford the licensing fees, create your own music.

I'm not playing the artists without authorization, I'm showing appreciation! The system is flawed!

I have EVERY AND ANY AND ALL RESPECT FOR ARTISTS BECAUSE I'M AN ARTIST MYSELF!!

By the way, I deleted my podcast. I shouldn't have to because I took the time to produce those podcasts!

The laws need to change!!

If you want the laws to change, you should speak to those who can work with you to get them changed.

Ranting about the laws you don't like, however, tends to accomplish nothing, and breaking the laws you don't like accomplishes even less.

Good luck in your efforts.

I haven't broken any laws. My podcast has been removed.
If your podcast depended entirely on the rights-protected works of others, you were smart to remove it before one or more of the artists you appreciate so much sued you for infringement.

I wish you luck fighting the IP laws you find objectionable.

Except...

Your listeners might be saving the music from the podcasts... so the musician is getting no $ for this.

As my mamma told me: "Prestige doesn't pay the bills."
