What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? texas

My husband has started receiving disability benefits due to an illness. Do we have to be living together for him to get benefits as married? Did he use any of my information without my permission? Since we have not been living together for over two years is he committing fraud if he has stated he is married?

I am not sure how disability benefits work and I have tried looking into it, but I still don't think my questions are being answered.

Any advice would be appreciated.

If we are talking about SSDI it doesn't matter if he is married or not. If we are talking about SSI being separated is to his advantage.

It is not "fraud" to state that you are married if *legally* you are married... which you are. Telling the truth is not fraud.
