18yo on apartment collection

Hello, my name is Dennis and I used to live with my dad in a apartment in Portland Oregon. I was 18 years old at the time and was taking GED classes and I had no job back then. I was on the lease because I turned 18 years old at the time recently and the manager said that if I wasn't on the lease I wouldn't be able to live there. In February we ended up getting kicked out because my dad didn't pay the rent and we moved out when they said we needed to move out. The other week I got a call from elite​ collection services saying that we owe 4400$ and my dad is the kind of person who has a ton of them and never pays them off. Please give me some advice on what to do because I dont know what to do.

If it doesn't get paid its going to effect both your credit and your ability to rent an apartment of your own in the future. You should never have agreed to be added to the lease.

REad the lease...in some cases a person is added as an authorized occupant and not necessarily a paying person....
