Do you think that constant complaining to them about their selection process is actually going to encourage them to take you on?

Really, you have no case.
The fact that you keep arguing in the face of being told you're wrong tells me that they made the right decision.
I thought this was a forum to ask questions? I read my state laws, I am not a lawyer, I don't know if anyone here is a lawyer? I am however a political science and psychology major and I was told by the company that this should have never happened, and if you read my state laws regarding contests you would have the same questions I have. But thank you for your great insight.

You asked questions and you got answers. The forum has met its advertised purpose.

That said, you apparently don't like the answers you have received. For that reason, I suggest you speak to an attorney (or two or three) in your area to get additional opinions. You might find an answer you like (but I wouldn't bet on it).

Good luck.

If you read the TOS you'll find the answer to that question.

And here's another insight: if your reaction to this situation is an indicator, I predict that your employment search is going to be very, very painful for you.

Contrary to what you obviously believe, life is not fair. You are not always going to be picked for the Varsity team. And not everything has a legal resolution.

Look. High school will be starting in a couple of months. Just focus on getting your HS Diploma and stop worrying about this.
Thanks! But really, I just graduated with a double degree in psychology and political science. I had this crazy idea that companies that take grant money had all these insane ethical obligations. It is so odd that there are state and federal laws, rules and regulations that state companies have ethical duties when dealing with consumers.

Read the TOS. Most people here are educated lay persons. IF you want an attorney to advise you...Hire one.

I am not looking for employment. The topic went from can this be considered a skill contest to someone asking me to elaborate which I did. Then you told me to focus on my HS Diploma. In case you did know there are laws, rules and regulations that govern contests, skill contests, giveaways and sweepstakes. The company admitted they were wrong. My only other questions was whether or not there could have been malice on one of the judge's part. If an employer acted in blatant and intentional manner to put one of his employees at a disadvantage then that employee would be entitle to some kind of recourse. There is no where that say I have to accept your advice. For all I know you can be fourth grader trying to make me feel bad. Sorry, it is now working.

I am saying that I don't have to agree with the advice. Because I don't agree with you, that is not a reason to tell me to go back to high school. Exactly my point, I thought this was a discussion forum, to have a discussion. I wanted to explore all angles, instead I was told to go back to high school.

Yup, you got me. I am the world's most articulate 10 year old. And I'm sorry it's now working to make you feel bad. My apologies that I assumed you were in high school from your posts. With your refusal to understand what you were being told, along with your mistaken belief that the "contest" should have been fair are characteristics of teenagers, not adults with double majors.

No. This is NOT a "discussion forum". READ the TOS. Geesh.....

So you submitted a business plan with the hopes that it would be pulled out of a hat and announced the winner?

(And I'm concerned that someone with your extensive education is butchering the English language so thoroughly. Is it possible that your trouble with the written word may have contributed to your non-selection?)

That is a possibility. I am guilty of English not being my first language but I do manage. Thanks for pointing that out, I really didn't think of that one.
