Can employer force employee to serve full notice period?

I currently work in IT firm in Toronto, Canada. I have three months of notice period in my current organisation. I got another offer but they are asking me to join in 2.5 months. Current organisation is not ready to relieve me before 3 months and new employer is not ready to wait for more than 2.5 months. My contract terms are as follows: "The notice period for resignation will be three months or salary in lieu thereof and this will be totally at the discretion of management" I am ready to buyout my notice period and pay whatever required. Is there any way I can ask my current employer legally based on above terms to relieve me early? Please help me, I am very much in need

This forum is for US law only, but I am pretty sure that Canada has outlawed slavery, so no, the employer cannot force you to remain. You could however, face financial/contractual consequences for leaving without full notice.
