Private attorney vs public defender

Florida, facing misdemeanor charges. No priors, cooperated with police.
So the big question. I have no major assets so I'd qualify for a PD with a $50 fee. Or I could pay $150-$200 a month for the next 2-3 years for a private attorney.

He's talking about a basically hail marry motion to suppress and if that fails we move to negotiations\mitigation with the SA. Should I keep my money to pay court costs or hope this private attorney will get a better result for me?

Whether to hire a private attorney or have a public defender represent you is a decision you need to make on your own.

What is the misdemeanor?
