Been trying to get some info on the summons and complaint i recieved and came across this

"If, however, the document has a disclaimer saying it is an effort to collect a debt, then it is not a summons."

My summons contains just that in large bold letters under the header, can anyone confirm this? Lvnv llc. Is the collector

What is the name of your state?

LVNC, LLC has a bit of a checkered history when it comes to their debt collection practices.

You started another thread yesterday. Is that a different collections action? Here is a link to that thread: https://forum.freeadvice.com/debt-collections-84/recieved-summons-not-sure-if-its-legit-machol-johannes-llc-638976.html

It is preferred on this forum that all related questions are kept to a single thread.

You have mentioned two different debt collection agencies in your threads. LVNV, LLC is not Machol & Johannes.

Are you being pursued by more than one collection agency for more than one delinquent debt?

Is there a court name and location at the top of the pages?
Is there a case number on the pages?
Is it signed by a judge or court clerk?

If yes to those questions, call the courthouse, give the case number and confirm that the case is on file.

Its Lvnv llc vs Me in the summons header, the attorney for them is from machol & johannes llc
Thank you for clarifying.

I agree with adjusterjack that you should contact the court to see if you are actually being sued or if what you received is just a debt collection letter (which, if so, would appear to violate the FDCPA).

Im filing a answer with the plaintiff attorney regardless if this legit or not, to cover my end of this so they cant just default judgement.

It would be unwise to send them an "answer" at this point if you haven't actually been sued
