What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Massachusetts
I'm recently divorced. My ex husband took the credit card debt since he used the cards and I didn't. The debts are still showing up on my credit even though they are paid. I'm trying to see how I can have this removed from my credit report? Thank you

If they are paid then they should help your credit rather than harm your credit. Why do you want them removed?

The credit card folks are not a party to your divorce. You are still contractually obligated for the debts. If your ex doesn't pay for them, they will ding your credit. Your recourse would then be to pay it and seek reimbursement from your ex.

To directly answer your question: You can't.

Again, though, why would she want to since according to her the debts have been paid. That is why I asked her why she wanted them removed.

In our divorce, he took responsibility for those credit cards. My name was on them, but he knew I never used them and I was unaware that he wasn't paying them consistently throughout our marriage, so he took the burden of needing to pay them. It states all of that in our divorce paperwork. He has since paid them off, but now it shows that I had 2 open accounts that weren't paid on time when they actually WERE paying paid. So my credit is taking a hit from it. I just wasn't sure If there was anything I could do about it

If there were late payments, there were late payments. Those don't go away simply because the card was finally paid in full.

Beyond that, no, you can't have the information removed based solely on your ex agreeing/being ordered to pay the cards off as a part of the divorce. As I mentioned above, the credit card company(ies) aren't a party to your divorce and the divorce doesn't affect your contractual obligation(s) to them.
