What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
Huntington Park, CA

I received a parking ticket (which I found out via old mail forwarded) for a street sweeping violation from the City of Huntington Park.

However, the signs are very old (faded and unreadable unless standing in from of it) and according to the city website there is NO street sweeping scheduled for where I parked at all- not any day. Is this legal?

Oh, so they ARE readable.

Doesn't matter. There could have been sweeping scheduled at the last minute just when you were parked in the way.

Is this legal?
Yes.

You got a ticket for disobeying the sign.

Even if they never intend to ever again sweep the streets, the sign rules. The "reason" for the no parking restriction is inconsequential.
