What is the name of your state? California

Dear friends, I was driving on 19th Avenue and Sloat Boulevard in San Francisco, and when I entered the intersection the light was yellow, but the camera flashed on me. I have a dash cam recording of that incident. Can you please watch that video and tell me why the camera flashed, and whether I could receive a ticket or not? I am 100% sure that I was deep in the intersection before the light turned red. Maybe the camera flashed at some other vehicle, that truck coming from the other direction may be the reason for the flash. Please watch the footage.
I would really appreciate it, thank you so much. The link to the footage is below.

Link removed from my quote. Did you want to describe what is shown?

The link is still there. Am I not supposed to share the footage on this forum?
The link does not show - at least temporarily. The moderator will decide if it is okay to have it in your post.

Anything that can identify a poster is generally removed - for their protection and the protection of others.

I checked the link again. It shows perfectly on my end. Anyways, I will explain what happened. But, watching that video will give you a clear picture. I was driving towards the intersection, I crossed the limit line while the light still being yellow, and when I was like less than 5 feet away from the far side of the crosswalk, the light turned red, and it flashed. I don't know if it flashed on me or not. If the flash was for me, how come it did not flash when I crossed the limit line? And why would it flash on yellow in the first place? I read the California law, and from it I understand that running the red light means that you cross the limit line when the light is steady red. I did not do that. I crossed the limit line when it was yellow, and it stayed yellow far a while. I am pretty nervous, you never know with these red light cameras.

All I know about the red light cameras in California is that everyone seems to complain about them and some malfunction so tickets in those cases can be successfully fought.

We DO have forum members from California who have experience with red light camera tickets, though, so you should wait for them to respond.

Good luck.

It's not a malfunction. The cameras will flash sometimes when there is not a violation. It has to. It has to show you behind the line and past the line to prove the violation. Sometimes that means it has to flash the first time even though you didn't commit the violation, just a near miss. These are automatically weeded out by the software.

If you get the ticket, let us know and we'll go based on the evidence. But for how, sit tight.

I didn't see the footage, but if you were IN the intersection on the yellow, the light probably flashed for someone else. Don't worry about it until (and if you even) receive a ticket.

You slowed down significantly before the intersection after what I assume was your phone sounded some alert tones. I hope you weren't playing with your phone while driving.

You were traveling at 16 mph when the light turned yellow. Maybe you should have stopped instead of accelerating at that point.

In any event, you weren't the one caught by the camera. I wouldn't worry about that.

The red light camera enforcement systems are typically actuated based upon a speed calculation. If you are traveling slow and then speed up at the last minute and make it into the intersection before the light turns red, you will likely trip the system and then be weeded out by the software and not issued a violation.

Yep, Ejay and I (finally) agree on something. Especially now that I've watched the video. The flashes occurred AFTER you were in the intersection which means that it's either flashing for another vehicle, or you completely stumped it with your driving. As I stated before, it needs to take a shot both BEFORE and AFTER you cross the line in order to prove the essentials of the charge. Since it appears you were nearly through the intersection before both flashes, it can't possibly have that for you.
