I sold a lake home in Minnesota one year ago. The buyers did not request a survey. Since then the previous neighbor has had a survey done to his property and states that the sewer lift station on the property I sold is partially on his property. Are the new buyers responsible for any financial liability as it is now their property?

I'd say so.

Why? Are they telling you that you are responsible?

I hope they bought an owner's title insurance policy when they bought the property.

Hinting, even threatening to sue is very easy. It's a bit more involved to actually do so and even harder to prevail.

I'm confused as to what the "financial liability" for anyone is here, anyhow.

How long has the pump station been there...less or more than 15 years and is it in plain view ?
