So I had a issue the last time with my dealership with where stuff seemed to be touched and playing around with in my car. So I popped my dash cam in the rear window and found some stuff I wasn’t hoping to find. I found the tech taking the car out two times and went racing around parking lots kicking the back end out then trying to do burning outs power braking. Then what tops it is him pulling over when no ones coming and just drag races it down back roads doing 40 mph over the speed limit. All I dropped the car off for was to get my hood scoop looked at for coming up nothing else..

At first it wasn’t a big deal until I kept digging further into the videos and I couldn’t just let this go. I have about 25 minutes of him driving and I edited it to 3 minutes of video of him just racing it around and you can see the speed he is going on the dash what was way over the speed limit.
I just just going to send this to the gm of the dealer but a few people told me I might want to get a lawyer. Compared to other videos of joyrides this one takes the cake and is disgusting.

Honestly i don’t know what to do about this. Thanks for any help!

What US state?
What demonstrable harm have you suffered?

I’m in NJ. I placed the camera in the rear window so you can see him doing all this stuff. I’m a first responder in the same district where he decided to take it for a joyride and in the video not only does he do 80MPH on a small backroad but he tries turning on my blue lights what is extremely illegal what if someone seen i would have big consequences to pay. After all of this the the tires look destroyed and I now see a oil leak on the timing cover.

I can see a decent claim for the tires. The timing cover oil leak really wouldn't be caused by this.

That is what I figured. I was going to email the gm and explain what all happen along with the video and say I plan to make the video public but won’t if a reasonable settlement is agreed to. I just wasn’t sure if I could get into any legal trouble for doing so that’s is why I came here.

Thanks for the help

Do NOT do the above-bolded -- because that sounds an awful like like blackmail.

I agree. That would be a really dumb thing to do. You can make it clear that you have the video to prove your claim, but do NOT threaten to make it public.

However, if I understood you correctly you took it in because the hood was coming up unexpectedly. Wouldn't the kinds of things that he did possibly be testing to see if the hood would come up?

The hood scoop was peeling up from double-sided tape they used it wasn’t a whole actual hood . I can understand a five-minute test drive but not doing 80 mph in a 40 and pulling over to let cars go by so he could have a clear path to drag race it And racing it around and trying to do burnouts. You can also see him putting it in race mode. In total he drove around for 30 minutes but the actual video edit it down to a whole bunch of small clips .
