What is the name of your state? MI
When I filed for child support the dad ordered a DNA test then didn't show up to give his sample and done everything possible to dodge being served. Father of child had not given anything but toys for the first year of our child's life then suddenly started giving more toys as well as clothes and 4 jumbo boxes of diapers. He told me all of these items will be considered child support. He has told me flat out he will never give me money, I have to tell him what is needed and he will buy it. Do I have to accept gifts from sons father in place of child support even though there is no court order? I do not want to but feel obligated.

Please keep all of your questions in one thread.

And no, you are not legally obliged to accept these gifts.
I apologize, I hadn't known about the newbie post and then after I read it I didn't understand what exactly that meant. I'm embarrassed to admit I still don't fully understand what that means. I don't want to make the mistake again.
