Im in Florida

So the question is I have 3 days to pay the rent which the last day is the 3rd so I forgot to pay the rent the 3rd then I wake up and pay it on the 4 at 6:30am

But then I get a letter after 8pm at my front door which is attached here telling me that I have to pay the rent+$100 late fee so I check the online rent payment system and it shows rent paid but with the $100 late fee so obviously the online system haven't update it on their records that's why I get the letter

Now my question is: Is this allow just after the 3rd which again its the last day to pay rent to get a letter at my front door and on top of that without an envelope ?

Letter image here:
Thank you so much in advance!

In what sort of area is your apartment door (open public hallway, private entrance)?

Was the letter folded over or back side showing?

Pay the $100.

You're only going to have to go through the court eviction process if you don't pay. Even if you win, there will be consequences.
I will pay it they will add it to next month bill no problem about that

But I don't like the idea after one day they come to put a letter in my door and I have 3 years with them

Thanks again Adjuster ur the best

Open public

Folded and inside door handle

Thank you
Thanks for answering my questions. If the letter contents were not visible to others who might pass by, the posting on your door was done properly.

The rent is probably due on the first, with a 2 day grace period, so technically rent is late if paid after the first. It sounds as if your landlord might be more efficient than others if the late notice was posted to your door on day 4.

I agree with adjusterjack. Pay the late fee and try not to pay late again.

I a recent case in FL the judge wanted to hear from the poster of the notice if he had clearly taped the notice to the door visible to everybody so he was sure that the tenant saw it. If it would have been in an envelope it would not be guaranteed that the tenant saw it.

The notice can be clearly posted on the door with the tenant's name printed on it. It can also say, "Important Notice."

The notice is visible to everyone, including the tenant, when it is posted on the tenant's door. Gabriel33 saw the notice posted on the door.

However, the contents of the notice should not be made visible to others.

I do not agree. In my area, when homes were going into foreclosure...notices where clearly taped to the front doors...for anyone to see....same thing with eviction notices and utility shut off notices. Besides that, I see no invasion of privacy info on the notice the OP received.
