Dad divorcing with non biological children

Their father seems to be sympathetic and value my relationship with the children. My primary question is if I could see them with the father during his visitation if he allows it.

Just be aware that it will be on his terms, and he will be able to stop any arrangement at any point in tm=ime.

The kids are all high schoolers. We were living together for 4 years then married for 5 more.

Well, you don't have any legal entitlement and no financial obligation but if you and the kids were close then you certainly were a "Dad" to them (kids can have more than one). Hopefully they will cherish that relationship in the future despite their mother's objection.

Fortunately, it won't be long until they become adults and make there own decisions about a relationship with you.

Meantime, don't make an issue of it. After the divorce you might be able to make some inroads once the dust settles.

Thanks, this sounds most sensible. I just haven’t had a chance to speak with them concerning the divorce and I fear their mother trying to turn them against me with a distorted interpretation of events in the months or years until I will be able to see them. But my relationship with the kids has always been good I will have to trust in that.

You can see them during dad's time if dad allow it, but do understand that dad's time with the children is limited and he may not want to share very much time.
