And please do not start several threads in different sections of the forum. Concentrate on getting one thread correctly posted. Thanks.

You should contact the owner of the shop and demand return of your Jeep, this if you did not agree to repairs.

I could see that point However we spoke every day and there's not one thing done to my Jeep besides what was done to diagnose the problem . This is not my first time reading an understanding what I put my signature on an that's why I was calling or stopping by the shop on a daily basis

Then contact an attorney to threaten legal action if your Jeep is not released or contact the police to report the unlawful holding of your Jeep.

Complain to the police? I don't recommend that you do so as nothing productive will result.

The mechanic is obviously claiming a lien for repairs made and/or parts furnished "supposedly" at your request. (See: Tennessee Code Section 66-19-101 et seq.)

Whether the claim of lien is valid can only be resolved by a civil court. Which in this case would be a court of General Sessions. (See: Tenn. Code Ann. § 16-15-501 Subparagraph (d) Courts of General Sessions- General jurisdiction - Small Claims )

So, what I would have you do is to file a General Sessions (small claims) action in the appropriate venue for replevin of the Jeep claiming that it is being unlawfully held by the defendant and that you are entitled to its immediate possession.

What that will do is force the mechanic to plead as a counterclaim claim of lien and produce supporting documentation, including proof that prior to any such alleged repairs, improvements or installation of parts you were informed of your consumer rights as stated in Section 66-19-104 of the Tennessee Code.
