What is the name of your state?Louisiana
2012 MalibuWhat model car?
It says as isThe lemon law can cover used vehicles up to 30 days after purchase but it appears the lemon law on your as-is vehicle sale does not apply. What does your Buyers Guide say?
I purchased the car and the warranty that the dealership sold. When the problem happened I called the warranty department and they said it is not covered because that was a pre existing condition. It says as is
Thank YouThat is unfortunate.
Here is a link to Louisiana's Title 51 where you can scroll to and click on LSA-RS 51:1941 to LSA-RS 51:1948, to read Louisiana's Lemon laws:

It is rarely a smart decision to purchase any used vehicle without having your own trusted mechanic check out the vehicle first.
Good luck with the engine repair.
You're welcome, Byhorn59135. We appreciate the thanks so thank you.Thank You
I agree that the warranty purchased from the dealer should be read carefully to see what it says about "preexisting" conditions. That said, the need for a new engine should have been something an independent inspection would have detected. You need to read the warranty you were sold very closely. In fact, you should likely have a lawyer look over it.
