I understand hair on your head is not the only eligible source.Agree on all points. Except if someone who claimed to have a "shy bladder" all of a sudden showed up to a hair test freshly bald, I would think that maybe they were just shy about someone knowing the results.
I haven't gone to a urologist, but I've talked to a Phycologist and psychiatrist about it, both believe it's Shy Bladder, and I do have anxiety (and meds for anxiety). Is this an actual diagnosis by a doctor, or merely a self diagnosis based on online definitions of the condition?
Have you been to a urologist to rule out medical problems?
After getting the all clear from a urologist, have you obtained therapy?
My point being, in order to qualify for an accommodation, you first need the documentation that you actually have the condition. You parents saying, "It's all in your head" would indicate that you have not gone through the process to get the necessary documentation.
They are a specialist. I understand your point but I doubt the psych is going to be asking op to, um, expose himself for an examJusta, a psychiatrist is a MEDICAL DOCTOR. Further, even a psychologist's statement would be sufficient under the law. He may wish to have a proper exam by a urologist or the like for other health reasons, but as far as invoking the 504 accommodation, he doesn't strictly need it.
True. I've seen many a surprised look when I told them it wasn't a problem - I could just take hair from their armpit or groin.I understand hair on your head is not the only eligible source.
A specialist in the study of algae won't help much.I've talked to a Phycologist
That's the great thing about ADAAA, prior to the amendments of ADA, major life functions were the only primary defense.I can't speak for education, but in employment the ADAAA does not require an employer to take the employee's unsupported word for an accommodation. If you are going in there and saying "I need an accommodation" but you don't provide any medical support for your position when asked for it, they're not in violation if they tell you to "Run away, kid". I'm not 100% sure that being able to pee on command qualifies as a major life activity to begin with.
