Do I need to divorce my boyfriend to marry him again?

I married my bf when he was still married to his wife.
He successfully got a divorce from her.
We were planning to get married again.
But I was told I needed to divorce him to marry him again.
Is this correct/necessary?
Since my first wedding/marriage to him was void already?

That's what I was saying to the person I talked to.
My first wedding/marriage to him was void because he was still married to somebody else at that time.
Now he's officially divorced.

So is it okay for us to get married again now without me divorcing him?

Depending on a ton of factors, it's possible that the marriage became valid when the divorce became final.
