Question when it comes to overnights

My childs mother is leaving for a week for a vacation. She tells me, she wants her sister to watch our child while she is gone. Her sister is 26 and leaves across the country. I do not feel comfortable with her sister. I love her.. but def not all trusting with her. Do I have ANY fight with this situation? It would not be my weekend but again...my childs mother will be gone. I dont mind sharing time with my daughters aunt but compromising has always been an issue. ......thanks for your help

This would not be "babysitting" per se. It probably would be viewed more like her taking the opportunity to allow her sister and your child to get to spend some quality time together, during her parenting time. You are not going to get into court fast enough to stop it from happening, and its definitely not an emergency. If there is anything in your court orders that requires her to offer you the extra time if she is away from the child, even if the child is going to be with family, then you could take her to court for contempt after the fact.

Unless this trip is months away, you're unlikely to get that done in time. And the other questions are still relevant...

Think about one thing dad...are members of your family ever going to want to spend quality time with your child? Because once you get the right of first refusal included in your court orders, it goes both ways.

How old is your order? If it was made while child was much younger, it may be time to revisit what is appropriate especially if you do not get your own week long visits.
