How to proceed when I get a misdemeanor 12500a vc for driving without a CA license, though I had CA permit and International DL?

It's an "International Drivers Permit." As I stated, it's meaningless by itself. A recognized body in each country issues them and they are merely the translation of the source foreign license into many languages. AAA issues them for US residents. You present BOTH if you are stopped.

California however, doesn't care a sou about an IDP. They will honor a foreign license if you are a non-resident. You are expected to have a California license if you are residing here for any amount of time.

Hello all ! Today I went to the court as scheduled and the ticket got dismissed after I showed my CA DL. They treated it as correctable and I just had to pay $25 as administrative fee. I would like to thank everyone who helped me in this group and encouraged me to get the CA DL. Thank you all for your suggestions and comments.
