What is the name of your state? Florida - Can a building supplier raise the price of material after you have ordered and paid for it?

What does the contract you have with this builder say about price? And what is the builder now saying about the price it wishes to charge?

Not builder, building supplier...the company that supplies the materials to the builder. I suspect that the OP is a builder who ordered materials.

You would need to look at the fine print of your paid for order/contract. Unless the contract allows for the price to be raised in certain circumstances it cannot be raised. However, unfortunately that might just get you your money back rather than the materials at the agreed upon price.

Was there a clear error made in the price originally charged?
We were sent an email that stated they were raising prices as of 1 Jan 2020 and the new prices would take affect even if we have already ordered our product. We have not received the product yet but we have paid for it.

You might want to specifically talk to them about it since you both ordered AND paid for it. Not email, not text, not telephone but go in person to the supplier and talk to the manager.
