Hi all, thank you in advance for reading.

I am in Pennsylvania.

I am looking to find a repository of historical custody cases that I could potentially reference in my upcoming custody case. I am a father to a child from a prior marriage (50% Shared Legal Custody) and I am a great father (ex will vouch). In 2020, I had a child out of wedlock and the mother has been minimally cooperative (at best) for me seeing my child. I have done everything I possibly could to have a relationship with the mother and work out details of a fair custody/financial schedule. I have been ignored, blocked, denied etc every which way. The mother is heavily enabled/controlled by her narcissistic father (who by the way continues to insert himself as he sees fit) and after many months of research, I do believe the mother has some sort of mental issue. I will note, not one in which would effect her ability to be a loving mother, I think she is and will be a wonderful mother. I do believe she has Asperger syndrome, some sort of minimal paranoid/schizophrenia, or some sort of severe bipolar depression. She is not capable of maintaining a healthy relationship. The mother is not vaccinated and leads the vegan/holistic culture (not due to any religious affiliations).

She is being enabled to keep my child from me and it is for the sole purpose of keeping the child "Eco Friendly" or "Hybrid Baby". She has asked me to get out of their lives and in return she will release me from any financial responsibility with the child. There are fathers out there that would jump at this opportunity, I am not wired that way and I do not think it is fair for her to make a decision for another person if a father is/is not involved.

My goal is simple. Shared Legal Custody and as close to 50/50 time as possible with my child. In reality, I would like to align my time with my child with her older sister so they can form a relationship and be in each other's lives. I am just trying to be a great dad and have the best version of a family that I can.

For my situation, I feel referring to other cases with similar characteristics could help me understand how I can formulate a strategy to be in my child's life, make medical decisions for my child (i.e. vaccinations) and be the father figure that I know I can be.

Thanks all in advance for reading and any help.guidance you provide!

You chose her. The time to research the mother-to-be of your child is BEFORE you impregnate her.

File for your rights. Shared legal custody is likely, but 50/50 for a relatively newborn baby is not as likely.

Thanks for the quick reply Zigner!
I do agree and I will say, given the bad situation, I love the mother and would stay with her if it were up to me. I was even willing to support the life style/culture as a couple because I knew it would make her happy.

This isn't about you (or mom).

You need a local lawyer. There isn't a vast library of family law cases and that which is there are generally ones that have gone through an appeals process. Add to that the chances of finding one that matches yours exactly is really pretty low.

The fact that you don't even know where to start looking makes that find even more unlikely and the chances of you being able to use it properly somewhere approaching zero.

Here is a link to the PA Court systems case law. You will have to search for what you are looking for. Getting an attorney on board will help, but there is no reason why you cannot educate yourself some too.

I strongly suggest you do NOT go into court spouting off about neurological issues you "think" the mother has...unless you have a PhD at the end of your name.
