How do I go about getting my firearm.from HPD. Are you able to advise me of what steps to take to get my firearm back from HPD? An associate got my gun taken, the case was dismissed 5 years ago, just want my property back. Does the clerk provide these forms for Court 8 or is this something I can retrieve from online?

Why was your firearm taken away?

How did the associate get a hold of your gun?

Not without an explanation of how and why "HPD" (which I assume is some local police department) obtained your firearm in the first place.

An associate got my gun taken
What does this mean? An associate of whom? Of you? How did this person "get [your] gun taken"?

the case was dismissed 5 years ago, just want my property back.
What case? In the five years since "the case was dismissed," have you never contacted "HPD" and asked about getting your gun back?

Does the clerk provide these forms for Court 8 or is this something I can retrieve from online?
Not sure what "these forms" or "Court 8" might mean, but I would assume that whether you "can retrieve [them] from online," is something you can figure out yourself with a simple google search.

The Houston Police Department is frequently referred to as HPD.

The procedure for retrieving property held by the police department will be the same, regardless of why the property is being held. What will be different is the success one will have in retrieving it. That is where details can help.

Devyobey first might want to call the property and evidence manager to see if the firearm has been destroyed.
