I don't disagree, but I am inside my own home and have medical issues that make me unable to wear one.
Who is telling you that you have to wear a mask in your home? What is the medical issue? What does mask wearing/not wearing have to do with Consumer Contracts (the forum you posted under)?

I didn't know where else to post the question. I have a signed contract with home healthcare for housekeeping services. My medical issues are extreme claustrophobia (IDC code F40-240), miltiple severe allergies. The gal who filled in for my regular housekeeper said I am required to wear a mask in my own home. I was not notified of this requirement. She called her supervisor, then got in her car and left. I called the agency, but the supervisor never returned my call.

If you wish to have housekeeping services you need to wear a mask...you can not and should not expect others to risk their life/health because you don't wish to wear a mask. Perhaps you can sit out in your yard/on your porch while the cleaning service is doing their job.

Oh. Well, both you and person with whom you contracted to clean your house should be masked to prevent the spread of infection. I can understand the person’s reluctance to offer service if you refuse to wear a mask.

You will want to wait for a return call from the housekeeping service to see what can be arranged so both you and the housekeeper are kept safe.

I was thinking along those lines, plus I can be in a different room. Outside problem would be allergies an this is New Hampshire.....it's getting pretty chilly out. Shouldn't I have been notified in advance? My arthritis, issues from several previous broken wrists and a broken arm (had to do tendon transfers) make putting one on,,,,NOPE. Give me a break, I'm a 71 year old gramma.

I like Blue’s suggestion that you sit outside but if you can sit in another room, that seems a simple solution.

Because of your age and medical issues, you really should be wearing a mask anytime you are in contact with others. The virus really doesn’t care how difficult it is for you to put on a mask but perhaps a face shield can be an option for you.

NOTHING in the contract about mask wearing. Only what tasks are to be completed. A panic attack due to claustrophobia probably wouldn't be pretty. Redundantly, shouldn't I have been notified?

There is an awful lot of information online and on TV and on the radio and in newspapers and magazines about the necessity for wearing masks and washing hands and keeping a safe distance from one another to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Sure, though. The housekeeping service should have made their mask wearing policy clear.

What is it that you want? Did you want to cancel the contract? If so, you will need to read the terms of the contract to see what it says about terminating the services and to see if there is a monetary penalty for doing so.

I am not entirely unsympathetic to your plight but I also understand the health risks faced by service workers.

Good luck.
