I have no idea what is the correct section for my question. Nothing seemed to fit. If someone that has the power to do so could move this thread if necessary that would be appreciated.

I am currently in a covid vaccine trial. I want to participate in a second covid vaccine trial because I need the money. But, in order to do the second vaccine trial when they ask "Are you participating in any other vaccine trials?" I need to lie and so "no".

Can this get me in trouble?

Possibly. The bigger problem is that you will mess up the data. This is a serious virus...don't do anything to screw with the trial.

Thank you for the concern but I am as close to 100% sure that I got the placebo as can be. People that took the vaccine I took reported massive symptoms. I experienced zero symptoms.

Thanks, I will check this out. But, I am looking for something with short hours and is only temporary. I am a student and plan to spend the majority of my break working on my senior project and applying to internships.

Absolutely. You could end up screwing up the results of both trials if you do that. Neither one of the test groups will want you participating in another vaccine trial at the same time because then it becomes impossible to know whether the results you had were due to vaccine 1, vaccine 2, or some combination of the two.

Not only can it get you in trouble, but it could seriously skew the results of both trials AND potentially do damage to your health. All in all, it's one of the worst ideas I have seen floating around.

You could try searching for a clinical or research trial that you could be eligible for even while participating in a vaccine trial. But don’t lie.

If your intent was to ask about potential legal consequence, the worst thing that might happen is that you won't get paid.

No. While there are thousands of participants, each result matters. In particular, should the combination of the two vaccines cause you to experience a very severe reaction or death, that severe reaction could impact how the vaccines move forward for approval. It may delay or even result in the vaccine not being released at all while they try to figure out what the real risk is of that reaction. Don't put the health of millions of Americans at risk for a little extra cash. They need all the participants to follow the study guidelines and not to go mixing different vaccines.

My argument is specifically directed at the portions of people's arguments that are directed at impact to my health or the study. Neither of which are legal questions. I have already asked about potential health impacts on a separate website. And for reasons I mentioned earlier, I believe with near-total certainty I am in the control group of the first study.

No, but it is unlikely that a statistically significant number of people are doing both trials.
