Again, you need to understand two things:

1. When the court tells YOU to do something, you can indeed get in trouble for not doing it. If the order says you must allow him to use the child for tax purposes, one would have to think that means providing 8332 so that he could legally do so.

2. Whatever custody issues you have do not relieve you from what the court orders you to do. If you have a problem with it, you have to go back to the court for relief.

How old your son is? Is he able to understand all these happenings if yes so what is his reaction to this?
Why should the taxes matter to the child? If you're referring to the fact that dad spends less time than what's in the custody agreement, why would she discuss that with the child either?
