Stephen King's The Stand, if I recall correctly, gathered the "good" in Boulder Colorado and the "evil" in Las Vegas Nevada. I assumed that was what zddoodah was referencing when he suggested that the line between good and evil was located between those two cities.

I thought it was the line between gambling and not gambling.

Though now that I think of it, Colorado has gambling casinos too.
