While I am certainly not a medical/mental health professional, I have been dealing with homeless in NYS and NYC for 20 years. From the contacts I have had, I'd judge that close to 100% of the homeless have serious mental health or drug abuse issues, or both.
Just know that given her past record I wouldn't put it past her to lie to the police. It is certainly not uncommon for innocent people to have mistakenly spoken with the police since they felt they had nothing to hide only to find that they talked themselves into being arrested and charged...
This has nothing to do with speeding or any other moving violation.
The police have better things to do than to respond to the complaint of some kook asking for something she has no right to have. I can guarantee that they will not come knocking. If they do don't answer the door.

I have heard nothing but negative comments over the years about Amazon and it seems to be a lousy place to work. Regardless of the outcome with your benefits, I'd be looking for a new employer.
