Based on my research, it should have a good chance of being dismissed since it was from 8 years ago and nothing has happened between the two of us...

     Not even relevant. That is not an armed burglary, armed break-in etc. Can't use a firearm in a non-life threatening situation.

     We haven't gotten to the point of looting yet but there will be in Providence as this goes on longer. Some rough neighborhoods. RI is a "castle" state - deadly force is allowed INSIDE one's home in response to a crime. But yes, it's obviously not to be taken lightly.

      I will likely be looking at a crossbow to defend my property against Coronavirus looters ;) What a great country we live in where veterans with no criminal record but a restraining order from a pyscho from 10 years ago denies 2nd Amendment rights!

      The situation has literally never come up since 2010. Bad breakup, we both filed restraining orders, went our separate ways. I've had no reason to even think about it until today. So I was shocked I was denied the purchase of a rifle. Denial was at the federal level.
