why would it be a leap to go from you having beer and them finding what they believed to be ecstacy to assuming you were drinking beer and doing ecstacy?

hopefully you do learn a bit from this though. If that had been some illegal drug, you would have been facing a much more serious charge. You are young and presumably have a clean record. Don't screw it up doing dumb things that will follow you the rest of your life. It really isn't worth it.
