What is the name of your state?I live in NJ. I got a bill from a debt from 10 years ago. Must be a collection agency (The Westmoreland Agency). I don't have a home phone so haven't gotten any phone calls. Do I send them a letter disputing the debt (since it's over the sol, it's for a credit card)? Can I tell them not to write me anymore? Meaning, is it illegal for them to contact me after that if I do? I checked, it's not on my credit report.

Thanks!

It is definately past SOL (6 years in NJ). Send a full cease and desist letter, certified mail return receipt.
