While I don't disagree, the simple fact is that information has nothing to do with the question.

Haven't had a chance to touch base with him today face-to-face (the best way to handle this situation), as he was on his way to work and so were my husband and I.

And a huge increase in insurance is also likely for any car for which he is an authorized driver. Because the kid lives with the OP he/she may need to specifically exclude him from his/her policy for whatever period of time he or she keeps him from driving to ensure he or she doesn't end up paying a lot in insurance over this.

There will be several consequences resulting from a conviction. Paying more for insurance can certainly be one.

We live 2 blocks away from his work, so he can walk. Also, to answer this question before it is asked, he can walk to school as well. Appreciate your concern.
