The phrase "go to University" seems to indicate non-US but the rest of it more closely relates to US.

The whole graduating from community college with AA at age 17 thing kind of goes along with the "go to University" thing as well.

So I totally forgot to mention that she is in unfit living conditions. For example, the home is Roach, Spider, & Black mold Infested. This is the main reason she wants to leave. She is 17 and graduates with her AA Degree in May. Her mother feels that she is her "property".

So I totally forgot to mention that "Divorce, Separation, and Annulment" is a truly odd place to post this thread, unless by "friend" you mean "stepparent", and you are breaking think's off with your "friend's" mom... In which case, this is totally creepy.

The kid is almost 18. The kid can decide where to live, etc., at 18. Apparently she has been living under these circumstances for a while - why the sudden rush?
