Good news guys. I talked with her mom today, and said that shes cool with us dating. Shes just gotta talk to her dad about it too, but she doesn't think he'll mind, as long i don't do anything stupid. So yeah we are definitely gonna play it safe and not have sex of any kind. I don't know why im even telling you guys this, cause you probably don't really care lol im just so happy things worked out in the end.

And she is NOT 16. Which is the age of consent provided there are romeo and juliet issues (i.e. close in age). She is only 15 which means there are issues if any sexual contact happens.
I know, OG. Was just staying a step ahead of the dude.

I am 18 years old and I am dating a 15 year old, whos parents said they will not let her date untill she is 16. They are very strict about this. We have not had any sexual relationship of any kind, nor do we plan to. If her parents find out, is there anything that they can do to me legally besides issue a restraining order? I live in Florida. Thanks.

It is Technically not ILLEGAL to date a minor if you are an adult. However there can be no sexual contact what so ever (that can be proven). The parents CAN get a restraining order on you which in that case it would be illegal for you to have ANY type of contact with the minor. Most people who post answers on here just ASSUME that they know the law, and think they know "oh you cant date a minor" shows just how little they know about the actual law. So you can legally date, as long as there is no sexual contact nor a restraining order.

I think you need to read the answers more carefully. At no time did anyone here say that it was illegal to date.

But if you are assuming that as long as there is no statute prohibiting it that there is nothing the parents can do about it, then you are the one who does not understand the law.
